Multiple Victims, Including Two Police Officers, Reported in Downtown Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS: Minneapolis police are responding to a shooting in downtown Minneapolis involving multiple victims, including two police officers, according to city officials.

The City of Minneapolis said shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday that the Minneapolis Police Department was on the scene in the area of 15 E. Grant Street.

Officials said multiple people were victims in the shooting and confirmed that two Minneapolis police officers were among those involved. The city urged members of the public to avoid the area while the law enforcement response remains underway.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said his public safety team is responding to the shooting and that state officials are on the ground supporting local law enforcement.

Additional details, including the number and conditions of the victims and the circumstances surrounding the shooting, have not yet been released.
