Juvenile Injured in Self-Inflicted Shooting at Eagan Residence, Investigation Ongoing

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Emergency crews responded Saturday evening, March 21, 2026, to a reported weapons incident involving a juvenile at a residence in Eagan, according to a news release from the Eagan Police Department.

According to the Eagan Police, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:06 p.m. to the 1900 block of Covington Lane in Eagan after a caller reported that a juvenile male had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen. When officers arrived, they located the injured juvenile and immediately began providing first aid until additional emergency responders arrived on scene. The Eagan Fire Department and M Health Fairview EMS also responded to assist.

The juvenile was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information regarding the individual’s current condition.

Officials say the incident remains under active investigation, and no additional details have been made available at this time.

No further information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been released.
