SAINT PAUL MN: Officials are advising the public to plan ahead ahead of a large protest event scheduled for Saturday in St. Paul.

The Saint Paul Police Department says multiple streets and highway exit ramps will be temporarily closed, with some closures beginning around 11:45 a.m. and reopening around 1:30 p.m. Other areas—primarily near the State Capitol—may remain closed longer depending on crowd activity.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says people in or near St. Paul, especially around the Capitol area, should expect increased traffic, ramp and street closures, and large crowds throughout the day. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time, remain alert, and use caution.

The event is part of the “No Kings” rally, a nationwide protest movement focused on opposition to authoritarianism and calls for protecting democratic institutions. Organizers say the St. Paul gathering is expected to be one of the larger events.

Attendance could reach up to 100,000 people. Appearances are also expected from Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, and Jane Fonda.

Officials note that closure times are approximate and may change based on conditions.
