WHITE BEAR LAKE: A Minnesota state lawmaker was arrested early Saturday morning in White Bear Lake on suspicion of driving while impaired.
According to the White Bear Lake Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 1:51 a.m. on March 27 near the intersection of 4th Street and Otter Lake Road after observing multiple violations, including speeding, expired registration, and an inoperable headlight.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Elliot Engen. Police say Engen was arrested on suspicion of DWI and transported to the White Bear Lake Police Department.
A breath test later indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13, according to authorities. Engen was subsequently booked into the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center on a charge of fourth-degree DWI and later released.
The case has been forwarded to the city’s prosecuting attorney for review. No additional information has been released at this time.
Engen is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
