Fatal Shooting Under Investigation on Saint Paul’s East Side

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Saint Paul police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday afternoon on the city’s East Side.

Officers were called to the 900 block of York Avenue around 2:25 p.m. on a report of a person who had been shot. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saint Paul Police homicide investigators are working to determine what led up to the shooting and who may be responsible. No suspect information has been released.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine the exact cause of death.

Police say updates on the investigation will be shared through the Saint Paul Police Department’s official X account, @sppdmn.

This marks the first homicide of 2026 in Saint Paul.
