Eagan Police Continue to Investigate Felony Vandalism Involving ICE-Linked Vehicles Last Month

DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA — Eagan police are investigating a felony-level property damage incident after multiple vehicles believed to be associated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were found damaged in a parking garage earlier this month.
According to an incident report from the Eagan Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:41 a.m. on January 16, 2026, to a parking garage in the 3900 block of Cedar Grove Parkway after a report of multiple vehicles vandalized. An Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agent with ICE told police he discovered damage to his vehicle when he went to leave around 6:00 a.m. and stated that three tires on his assigned vehicle were completely deflated. The vehicle, a 2025 Ford Escape with Florida plates, had been parked in the garage since the previous afternoon.
Upon closer inspection, the ICE agent and the responding officer noted that the tires did not appear to be slashed but instead showed very small puncture holes, leading the ICE agent to believe the tires may have been intentionally deflated with a sharp, narrow object, such as an ice pick. The vehicle had not been moved since it was parked the day before.
As officers canvassed the parking garage, they located several additional vehicles with similar damage. Police documented the following vehicles as damaged:
A 2024 Chevrolet Traverse with Minnesota plates, found with one damaged tire
A 2025 Jeep Wagoneer with Minnesota plates, found with both passenger-side tires damaged
A 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck displaying U.S. government plates, found with both driver-side tires deflated
A dark-colored SUV bearing New York license plates was found with three damaged tires; this vehicle was removed from the scene before officers could fully verify ownership or registration
Most of the vehicles were believed to be owned or rented by ICE agents assigned to enforcement operations in the metro area, though police noted that ownership of some vehicles could not be fully confirmed at the time of the report. Officers made contact with some of the agents assigned to the damaged vehicles and provided them with case numbers. In at least one instance, the assigned agent reported returning to the garage late in the evening and discovering the damage the following morning.
Police stated it is unclear whether additional vehicles may have been damaged, as the investigation was limited to those located during the initial walkthrough of the garage. ICE reportedly handled towing the affected vehicles for repair.
No suspects have been identified, and the case remains open. The incident is classified as first-degree damage to property involving a public safety motor vehicle, a felony-level offense under Minnesota law. At this stage, the report is listed as information only, and no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Eagan Police Department.
