Farmington Fire Department to Host Annual Community Blood Drive Sept. 25
FARMINGTON, MINNESOTA – The Farmington Fire Department is calling on residents to roll up their sleeves for a lifesaving cause. The department will host its annual Community Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 21625 Denmark Avenue.
Fire Chief Matt Price emphasized the importance of the event, noting that the need for blood donations never goes away.
“This is another important issue that the Farmington Fire Department is proud to support, as blood donations are always needed,” said Chief Price.
According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds. Donations collected at drives like this one help ensure hospitals have the supply needed for surgeries, accident victims, cancer patients, and others requiring urgent transfusions.
To make the event even more inviting, donors will receive a complimentary cup of award-winning firehouse chili. This tradition gives the community a taste of the fire department’s culinary pride while supporting a critical health need.
