Juvenile Injured in Shooting Near Hillcrest Knoll Park; Two Arrested
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA - A juvenile male is recovering from a gunshot wound after a shooting incident near Hillcrest Knoll Park in the city's eastern neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Saint Paul Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:48 p.m. on August 2, 2025, following multiple reports of shots fired near the intersection of Kennard Street and Nebraska Avenue East. The Saint Paul Police were assisted by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Maplewood Police in responding to the incident.
Upon arrival, officers were directed to the 1700 block of Nebraska Avenue East, where they located a juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Saint Paul Fire Department medics provided immediate medical assistance and transported the victim to Regions Hospital. Authorities say the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary information gathered by investigators indicates that a group of juveniles was involved in a physical altercation when one or more gunshots were fired. The exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation.
At approximately 5:12 p.m., officers located two juvenile males in the vicinity who matched descriptions of the suspects provided by witnesses. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident, and a firearm was recovered during the arrests.
