Three Dead in Domestic-Related Homicide at Hopkins Home Daycare

HOPKINS MN: Two adults and a juvenile were found dead inside a Hopkins residence operating as a home daycare Tuesday morning in what police are investigating as a domestic-related homicide.
According to the Hopkins Police Department, officers responded at approximately 9 a.m. on Aug. 12 to a report of a stabbing at a residence in the 200 block of Tyler Avenue North.
When officers arrived, they discovered two adults and one juvenile deceased inside the residence, police said.
Several children were present at the home at the time of the incident. Police said all of the children were safely evacuated and were not injured.
Authorities said they believe there are no outstanding suspects and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“This is an extremely tragic event for our community,” the Hopkins Police Department said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this devastating incident.”
The department said numerous agencies responded and assisted at the scene.
Hopkins police are expected to provide additional information about the investigation during a 4 p.m. press conference Tuesday outside Hopkins City Hall.
The incident remains under active investigation, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
