Fire Damages Townhouse at Hugo Complex Sunday Evening

Hugo, MN — An extended garage fire caused significant damage to a townhouse in Hugo Sunday evening, rendering one unit uninhabitable.

Hugo Fire Department crews were dispatched around 6:00 p.m. to a report of a structure fire at a townhouse complex. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a garage fully involved with flames that had extended into the second story of the home.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control and stop it from spreading to adjacent units. All residents were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The primary unit sustained heavy damage and is considered uninhabitable. Neighboring units experienced minor smoke damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Forest Lake Fire, White Bear Lake Fire, Lino Lakes Fire, Spring Lake Park–Blaine–Mounds View Fire, M Health Fairview EMS, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
