St Paul Man Charged with $1,500 Theft from Eagan Kwik Trip Hours After Release from Jail
EAGAN, MINNESOTA—An 18-year-old St. Paul man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing over $1,400 worth of merchandise from a Kwik Trip in Eagan just hours after being released from jail in a separate county.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, Conner Michael Iversen has been charged with one count of felony theft for an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of June 24, 2025. Authorities say the total value of the stolen merchandise was $1,498.
Officers were called to the gas station in Eagan after staff discovered two black garbage bags full of empty and torn-open phone charger packaging in the trash. Surveillance footage from the store reportedly showed a male suspect — later identified as Iversen — entering the store around 4:00 a.m. and making three separate trips to the family restroom with armfuls of phone charger boxes. Each time, he exited the restroom with a shopping bag but no boxes and left the store without attempting to pay. The footage also showed the suspect arriving in a black four-door sedan without front license plates. He entered from the passenger side, while the driver remained in the vehicle and later smoked outside before driving off about ten minutes after the theft.
Using facial recognition software, investigators matched the suspect to Iversen, who had been released from Hennepin County Jail the night before, on June 23, at around 7:00 p.m. Officers noted that the clothing Iversen was wearing at the time of his release — specifically his pants and shoes — matched those worn by the suspect in the surveillance video.
When officers attempted to locate Iversen at his listed address on Whitetail Way in St. Paul, they were told he had entered a treatment program earlier that same day, June 24, at 7:00 a.m. — just three hours after the alleged theft.
Iversen was arrested on June 27 and taken to the Dakota County Jail. During a search of his backpack, officers recovered several new phone chargers and the same black t-shirt he had worn during the theft. Officers also found multiple knives in his possession.
Iversen is currently being held on $5,000 bail without conditions or $3,000 bail with conditions. His next court date is set for September 4, 2025, at 9 AM in Hastings, Minnesota. The address of the Kwik Trip location in Eagan, where this occurred, was not readily available.
