UPDATED: Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Rosemount/Coates
LATEST UPDATE - 2:35 PM on June 30, 2025: The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as 33-year-old Jamie Leeann Wagner of Rosemount, Minnesota. According to the medical examiner, Wagner was a passenger on the motorcycle that collided with another vehicle. The cause of death was reported as multiple blunt force injuries.
Update on 9:45 AM on June 30, 2025: According to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, there was one confirmed fatality, a 33-year-old female. A second person was critically injured. Their condition is not currently known. The identities of the two have not been released yet.
An investigation is still ongoing into the cause of this crash. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
ORIGINAL STORY - ROSEMOUNT/COATES, MINNESOTA – A serious crash involving a motorcycle happened on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the intersection of the northbound ramp from Highway 52 and Brandel Drive, which has reportedly turned fatal.
Rosemount Fire, the Dakota County Sheriff, and the Minnesota State Patrol were dispatched to the scene around 5:20 p.m. on Friday. Due to the severity of the crash, eastbound Brandel Drive over Highway 52 was closed, as well as the northbound exit ramp from Highway 52 to Brandel. The roads remained closed until about 8:40 PM.
Initial reports confirmed that two individuals sustained injuries in the crash. An air ambulance was requested but later canceled. The Dakota County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene, arriving around 7:30 p.m., confirming that at least one person had died as a result of the crash.
Law enforcement officials are currently conducting an active investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Details on the victims’ identities or the cause of the crash have not been released at this time. We are awaiting a response from local officials for further information regarding this incident.
Numerous Serious Crashes Lately
We are aware of at least two other crashes that have occurred in this area over the past month, including an injury crash involving a semi-truck on June 11, 2025, for which you can view video footage from the scene of the incident above. Locals in the area have also expressed concern about the danger of this intersection, following several serious crashes that have occurred here recently.
We plan to reach out to Dakota County Officials to determine if there are any plans to improve this intersection and reduce the number of serious crashes that occur at this location. We are also planning to reach out to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office to get some stats on the number of crashes that have occurred in this area in recent years.
