LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA: Alonzo Noel Davila, from Owatonna, is facing a felony charge in Dakota County after authorities say he fled from Lakeville police during an attempted traffic stop at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour.

According to a criminal complaint filed May 13, 2026, in Dakota County District Court, 26-year-old Davila has been charged with one count of felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. Court documents state that officers with the Lakeville Police Department were dispatched on May 10, 2026, to a residence in Lakeville after receiving a report of a man in a vehicle who was believed to either be intoxicated or experiencing a mental health crisis. Officers reportedly located the described vehicle nearby and attempted to initiate a traffic stop using emergency lights from a marked squad car. Authorities said officers identified the driver as Davila.

According to the complaint, when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle allegedly fled, reaching speeds of approximately 100 mph.

Davila was later charged with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle under Minnesota Statute 609.487.3. The offense carries a maximum penalty of up to three years and one day in prison and/or fines ranging from $1,500 to $5,000.

During a May 13th court appearance, bail was set at $50,000 without conditions or $25,000 with conditions. The conditional release terms include remaining in Minnesota unless granted written court approval, abstaining from alcohol and controlled substances, submitting to random chemical testing, remaining law-abiding, participating in a pretrial release program, and refraining from possessing firearms or other dangerous weapons.

Court records also noted that Davila has prior convictions for first-degree burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors cited the alleged high speed of the pursuit and previous convictions when discussing bail conditions.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
