Published: July 15, 2026

LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA: A suspect was taken into custody Wednesday night following an hours-long law enforcement search that began in Lakeville and ended more than a mile away on the Lakeville-Farmington border after multiple residents reported seeing the individual moving through neighborhoods and wooded areas.

Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, a significant law enforcement response was reported at Country View Manufactured Home Park in Lakeville, located in the 5700 block of Country View Trail. Initial reports circulating on social media suggested a serious crime had occurred, prompting numerous questions from residents.

Lakeville Police Chief Brad Paulson told Limitless Media News they were assisting the Sheriff’s Office with the execution of a search warrant.

"We were assisting the Dakota County Sheriff's Office late this afternoon and this evening with a search warrant and subsequent search for a subject that was wanted by their agency," Paulson said.”

We will reach out to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office for more information on this case and the initial warrant, as they are leading the investigation.

Hours-Long Search

Following the execution of the search warrant, authorities began searching for the wanted individual, who remained at large for several hours.

Based on information gathered by Limitless Media News, the suspect traveled generally west-northwest through wooded areas and along North Creek, prompting an extensive search involving both the Lakeville Police Department and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office.

As the search continued into the evening, officers appeared to narrow down the suspect's possible location.

Shelter-in-Place Issued

Around 8 p.m., or shortly thereafter, the Lakeville Police Department issued a shelter-in-place for residents in the area of 175th Street West and Finch Path, as well as the surrounding neighborhood, while officers searched for the wanted subject.

Residents were asked to remain indoors, lock their doors, and close their garage doors as law enforcement concentrated their efforts in the area.

Residents Helped Officers Locate the Suspect

Several residents ultimately helped officers track the suspect's movements by reporting sightings to 911.

One resident told Limitless Media News they observed the suspect in the area of Frazer Path and Foliage Avenue and immediately contacted dispatch.

A short time later, another resident reported seeing the suspect walking across a pond between French Avenue, Folsom Path, and Foliage Avenue, providing officers with another updated location.

Those reports helped law enforcement close in on the suspect.
