Sentence and Jail Time
According to the court’s amended sentencing order, Rokosz was sentenced to 90 days in the Dakota County Jail, with credit for 57 days already served, leaving him with 33 days remaining.
The court also imposed an 18-month prison sentence to the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, but stayed execution of that sentence for three years, meaning Rokosz will not serve the prison term unless he violates probation.
Probation and Conditions
Rokosz was placed on supervised probation for three years, monitored by Dakota County Community Corrections. The court imposed extensive conditions, including:
No contact with the victim
No possession or use of alcohol or controlled substances, except prescribed medications
Random chemical testing
Chemical dependency evaluation and treatment, if recommended
Psychological evaluation and compliance with treatment recommendations
Cognitive skills training as directed by probation
No possession of firearms, ammunition, or explosives
No threatening or assaultive behavior
Compliance with all state and federal laws
Rokosz is also required to submit a DNA sample and follow all mental health directives ordered by the court.
Restitution remains reserved for up to 60 days and will be determined by Dakota County Community Corrections. The court imposed $215 in fines and fees, including a criminal surcharge, law library fees, and public defender co-payment.
Background of the Case
Rokosz was charged following a 45-minute assault on October 4, 2025, when a woman walking near Parkview Elementary reported being approached by a man who spoke about religion before violently attacking her once they reached his property.
According to the criminal complaint, Rokosz repeatedly slammed the victim to the ground, attempted to throw her over a fence, and made disturbing statements, including threats to kill her. The victim suffered significant injuries, including a head injury that later caused hallucinations.
Investigators also documented a history of similar threatening behavior involving Rokosz in the same neighborhood dating back several years.
Arrest and Public Safety Concerns
Rokosz was taken into custody on November 4, 2025, after Lakeville Police, assisted by the South Metro SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at his Rosemount residence.
Prosecutors previously described Rokosz as posing a significant risk to public safety, citing the escalating nature of the attack and prior incidents involving threats and violence.
Moving Forward
If Rokosz violates any conditions of probation, the stayed prison sentence could be executed, resulting in his transfer to state prison.
