WABASHA COUNTY, MN: A 69-year-old Madison, Minnesota man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a Lakeville woman whose body was discovered inside a camper near Mazeppa, MN.

The Wabasha County Attorney’s Office and the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Stanley Alan Munstermann, 69, of Madison. He is being held on charges of second-degree murder with intent, second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony, and first-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Barbara Ann McBride-Law, 66, of Lakeville.

According to authorities, the case began after a report of a deceased person found in a camper at Mac’s Park Place, located outside of Mazeppa in Wabasha County.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office later determined McBride-Law’s cause of death to be homicidal violence, and ruled the manner of death a homicide, officials said. Investigators with the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, including detectives and deputies, worked alongside the County Attorney’s Office in what officials described as an extensive investigation that spanned multiple states and required hundreds of hours of investigative work.

Munstermann is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Wabasha County District Court.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
