According to the criminal complaint, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded at approximately 4:23 p.m. on April 28, 2026, to a report of shots fired near 420 West Broadway in Minneapolis.
According to the complaint, a witness reported that a black Dodge Journey with front-end damage pulled into the Broadway Center parking lot. The vehicle was described as being driven by a female, with a Black male passenger wearing a dark ski mask and a pink sweatshirt. The witness reported the male passenger leaned out of the vehicle window and began firing a gun as the vehicle was pulling into the lot.
Another witness reported shots were fired near the DLTR clothing store located at 509 West Broadway, according to the complaint. Officers learned a Jeep Cherokee was involved and was shot at by the occupants of the Dodge Journey.
Officers recovered two discharged silver 9mm shell casings on the south shoulder of West Broadway, according to the complaint. Surveillance video showed the Dodge Journey traveling along that route, with the passenger reaching out of the vehicle in the area where the casings were recovered.
The complaint states the incident originated inside the DLTR store. Surveillance video showed the Dodge Journey arriving and parking directly in front of the store before leaving as a separate group exited the store and entered a Jeep Cherokee. The Dodge then waited near an exit until the Jeep approached, before driving eastbound on West Broadway, where the shots were fired.
Using surveillance footage, officers identified the Dodge Journey’s license plate as LXD677, which was registered to Annie Marie Davis (DOB July 8, 1988), the defendant in the case. Officers identified Davis as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident, according to the complaint.
Davis was arrested the following day at approximately 6:00 p.m. while driving the same Dodge Journey. According to the complaint, her two sons were inside the vehicle at the time of her arrest. Officers also located a firearm and clothing described as being worn by the shooter during the incident, according to the complaint.
The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
