TWIN CITIES MN: The chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota is calling on U.S. Senate candidate Royce White to suspend his campaign following reports involving a no-contact order issued in Hennepin County Courts.
In a statement released Friday, party chair Alex Plechash described the situation as “deeply troubling” and said the reports raise concerns about White’s judgment and conduct.
“While the Republican Party of Minnesota cannot force any candidate out of a race, we are not going to pretend this is acceptable,” Plechash said. “Candidates seeking public office must demonstrate sound judgment, behavioral discipline, and respect for the law. These reports raise serious questions about all three.”
Plechash added that White should “immediately suspend his campaign” and focus on addressing the legal and personal matters connected to the reported court order.
“Mr. White should immediately suspend his campaign, address the personal and legal matters before him, and stop putting Republican voters and activists in the position of defending the indefensible,” the statement reads.
He concluded by saying, “The path forward is clear: he should step aside.”
