PRIOR LAKE MN: A 89-year-old man is facing a gross misdemeanor charge after allegedly taking a wallet that had been dropped on the gaming floor at Mystic Lake Casino, according to a criminal complaint filed in Scott County.

According to the complaint, on November 28, 2025, officers with the Prior Lake Police Department were dispatched to the casino for a report of a theft. The victim reported that he had been gambling when he lost his wallet and was unable to locate it after retracing his steps.

The complaint states the wallet contained approximately $500 in cash, a driver’s license, and three debit cards. The wallet itself was valued at about $20.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, which the complaint states shows Marino Geraldino Javier (DOB: 10/30/1936) picking up the victim’s wallet after it had been dropped on the floor. The footage allegedly shows Javier looking through the wallet before handing it to another individual.

According to the complaint, that individual is then seen holding the wallet while both approach another gaming machine. The footage further shows the two leaving the casino together in a red Buick.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
