Nine People Shot Outside Minneapolis Event Center, Police Investigating

MINNEAPOLIS: — Nine people were injured in a shooting outside the Reign Event Center early Sunday morning, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 12:27 a.m. to the 2900 block of Hennepin Avenue following reports of a shooting involving multiple victims. Officers arrived in less than one minute and requested additional assistance because of the large crowd gathered outside the venue. Officers from all five Minneapolis precincts, along with officers assigned to the Chief's Beats, responded to the scene.
According to police, officers located four victims at the scene:
A 20-year-old man with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds.
A 21-year-old man with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
A 22-year-old woman with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
A 27-year-old woman with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
All four were transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare.
Police said an 18-year-old man later arrived at Hennepin Healthcare with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Additionally, four more victims sought treatment at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. They included a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man with apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, along with a 21-year-old man who suffered potentially life-threatening injuries. That victim was later transferred to Hennepin Healthcare.
According to preliminary information released by Minneapolis police, gunfire broke out outside the event center following a reported altercation. Investigators are also examining whether shots were fired from a vehicle.
Officers secured the area while Minneapolis Police Department forensic scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.
The department's Firearm Assault Shoot Team (FAST) is leading the investigation to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
No arrests have been announced.
