19-Year-Old Man Killed in North St. Paul Shooting; Suspect Arrested

NORTH SAINT PAUL MN: A 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting Saturday morning in North St. Paul, and a suspect is now in custody.

North St. Paul police officers were called to the 2000 block of 9th Avenue at about 7:04 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2026, after receiving a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Nehemiah Davis, 19, of Coon Rapids.

An adult male suspect, Zay’vion Edgerson, 24, of Saint Paul, was taken into custody and booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Investigators with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the North St. Paul Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The case is expected to be presented to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for charging consideration.
