Three Unoccupied Homes Destroyed in Overnight Fire in Otter Tail County Early Saturday Morning

AMOR TOWNSHIP, MINNESOTA — Multiple fire departments responded early Saturday morning after three residences were found engulfed in flames in rural Otter Tail County. Officials say all three structures are considered total losses, and the cause remains under investigation.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a 911 call at 2:53 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, reporting several homes on fire in the 28000 block of Augustana Trail in Amor Township on the west side of Otter Tail Lake. When first responders arrived, they found three unoccupied residences burning.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no one was inside the homes at the time, and no injuries were reported among residents or responders.
All three structures "appear to be a complete loss," officials said.
Large Multi-Agency Response
Due to the scale of the incident, several fire departments from the region were dispatched to help contain the blaze and protect surrounding properties, including fire crews from Battle Lake, Ottertail, Underwood, Fergus Falls, and Perham. In addition to these fire crews, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to this fire.
Cause Remains Unclear
The Minnesota State Fire Marshal confirmed the cause of the fire remains undetermined as of Tuesday afternoon, November 25, 2025, and that the investigation is still ongoing. Authorities have also not released any details about where the fire may have started or whether foul play is suspected. Investigators are expected to conduct interviews, examine debris, and evaluate the burn patterns to determine how the fire spread across the three structures.
