Police Investigate Reported Shooting at Concierge Apartments in Richfield
UPDATE - August 1, 2025, at 9:30 PM: According to a press release from the City of Richfield Police Department, officers were called to the 7610 Penn Avenue South apartment building at the Concierge Apartments around 8:24 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, for reports of people arguing and a gunshot being heard. According to the Richfield Police, officers searched the area but were unable to find anyone involved in the incident. They did collect evidence that supports a gunshot was fired, and also found blood.
The incident remains an active investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY - RICHFIELD, MINNESOTA: Several officers responded to reports of a possible shooting at the Concierge Apartments on Thursday evening, July 31, 2025. The incident occurred around 8:40 PM in the 7600 block of Penn Avenue South, prompting a swift and coordinated response from multiple law enforcement agencies.
Richfield Police were joined at the scene by officers from the Minnesota State Patrol, Eden Prairie Police Department, and Bloomington Police Department. Upon arrival, officers appeared to focus their attention on the building located at 7610 Penn Ave S, one of the buildings within the Concierge Apartments complex.
According to multiple residents, officers restricted movement in and out of the building as they conducted a floor-by-floor sweep. Those living inside were reportedly told to remain in place, while those returning home were temporarily told they couldn’t enter the building at this time. From the exterior, law enforcement officers could be seen methodically clearing the building, searching for any evidence or potential suspects or victims connected to the reported shooting.
By approximately 9:30 PM, police had completed their search of the building, and residents were permitted to re-enter or exit the premises.
While specific details surrounding the incident remain limited, authorities have confirmed they are actively investigating a shooting that occurred at the complex. No information regarding injuries, suspects, or arrests has been released as of this time. The Richfield Police Department has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
