ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA - Rosemount Police just announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with last week’s reported shooting in Rosemount, following a coordinated law enforcement operation that led to a heightened police presence in the area.

During their operation, a 47-year-old male suspected of being involved in the shooting was taken into custody at a residence in Rosemount. Authorities say the suspect was booked into jail on multiple potential charges, including:
Second-degree assault
Threats of violence
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Formal charges are pending review by the Dakota County Attorney’s Office.
The arrest marks a significant development in the case, which began when officers responded around 6:43 p.m. on April 10th, 2026, to reports of gunfire in the neighborhood. At that time, police located a single spent shell casing but found no victims and had not identified any suspects.
Authorities emphasized that Thursday’s law enforcement activity was directly related to that investigation and was conducted to safely apprehend the suspect.
