SAINT PAUL PARK, MINNESOTA - A serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Highway 61 at 70th Street in Saint Paul Park left one woman with life-threatening injuries and led to the arrest of a 70-year-old man suspected of driving while intoxicated.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Harley Davidson Road King and a Land Rover LR4 were both traveling northbound on Highway 61 at approximately 6:54 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2025, when the two vehicles made contact. The passenger on the Harley Davidson, identified as 60-year-old Kimberly Ann Robinson of Newport, MN, was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a helmet and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Harley, 70-year-old Lonnie William Cory of Inver Grove Heights, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Multiple agencies responded, including Cottage Grove Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Cottage Grove Fire Department, St. Paul Park Fire Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Later that evening, around 8:30 p.m., officers with the Minnesota State Patrol located and arrested Cory in the 2000 block of 62nd Street East in Inver Grove Heights. He was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The State Patrol stated that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The driver of the Land Rover, a 62-year-old man from Flagler Beach, Florida, and his passenger were not injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation, and charges are expected pending toxicology results and a full crash reconstruction. We will provide an update on this incident once more information has been released.
