Man Injured After Stabbing in South St. Paul; Suspect in Custody

SOUTH ST. PAUL — South Saint Paul Police are investigating a stabbing that left one man injured Thursday night in the south end of the city.
SSPPD says Officers were called around 9:15 p.m. to a reported weapons incident in the 100 block of Richmond Street West. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent stab or knife wound to the chest.
A preliminary investigation determined the assault occurred nearby in the 100 block of Frost Street West. Police located the residence connected to the incident and took an adult male into custody without incident.
Officers and investigators remained at both locations for several hours as the investigation continued. Police cleared the scenes at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Authorities said there is a known relationship between the victim and the suspect, which was established early in the investigation. As a result, police do not believe there was any threat to the general public.
The victim is expected to survive. The suspect remains in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
