SAINT PAUL MN: A 28-year-Minneapolis woman is facing two felony drug charges after authorities allegedly recovered more than 200 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine during a vehicle search in Ramsey County.

Ryann Elizabeth Johnson has been charged with one count of first-degree controlled substance crime for allegedly possessing 100 grams or more of fentanyl and one count of second-degree controlled substance crime for allegedly possessing 25 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement developed information in June 2026 indicating Johnson was allegedly selling large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. On June 18, investigators obtained a search warrant for Johnson and her Dodge Durango.

On June 23, officers located the vehicle near Payne and Magnolia avenues in St. Paul. Court documents state officers observed Johnson and a man walking toward the Durango before stopping them.

According to the complaint, Johnson told officers she had fentanyl in her purse when asked. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly recovered a black bag containing suspected methamphetamine on the front passenger-side floorboard, a metal tin containing suspected methamphetamine beneath the driver's seat, and additional suspected controlled substances in the vehicle's trunk.

After being advised of her constitutional rights, Johnson agreed to speak with investigators, according to the complaint. Prosecutors allege Johnson admitted she sells drugs to support her drug habit. She reportedly claimed the methamphetamine found in the Durango belonged to the man she was with and denied knowing about the suspected drugs located in the trunk. Investigators wrote in the complaint that they did not believe those statements were truthful.

Laboratory testing allegedly determined the powder recovered from the trunk contained fentanyl and weighed approximately 195.4 grams. Another 7.43 grams of suspected fentanyl was allegedly recovered from Johnson's purse, according to the complaint.

Authorities also allege three bags recovered from the vehicle contained a combined 30.47 grams of methamphetamine, while two additional bags found inside a metal tin weighed 5.03 grams and also tested positive for methamphetamine.

The complaint further states surveillance video from Johnson's apartment showed the metal tin containing methamphetamine protruding from her purse before the arrest.

Court records also indicate Johnson has three prior felony convictions involving two motor vehicle theft cases and one receiving stolen property case involving a motor vehicle.

The charges remain allegations, and Johnson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
