Vehicle Fire Temporarily Closes Northbound Cedar Avenue in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - Around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, emergency crews from the Apple Valley Fire Department and Apple Valley Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire on northbound Cedar Avenue just north of 157th Street. Responders quickly arrived on the scene and closed the northbound lanes of Cedar Avenue at 157th Street, allowing crews to work on extinguishing the fully involved vehicle.
According to officials at the scene, the vehicle involved was not an electric car. Instead, firefighters faced challenges due to a nearly full gasoline tank. Fuel leaking from the tank would repeatedly reignite, which extended the time it took for crews to extinguish the fire. Eventually, the crews were able to extinguish the fire. At this time, there do not appear to be any injuries connected to the incident. However, the official cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. Limitless Media has reached out to Apple Valley officials for more details, including confirmation on whether there were indeed no injuries and what may have sparked the blaze.
We received reports from people that there were significant delays in the area as northbound Cedar Avenue was temporarily closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. Drivers were advised to detour onto 157th Street due to the road closure.
We will provide updates as more information becomes available from city officials.
Below you will find just a few of the many photos we received of the vehicle fire. Thank you once again for all the tips!
