EAGAN, MINNESOTA - We are providing an update on an incident we had originally published back on February 25, 2026, which you can find here: Stolen Vehicle Crashes in Eagan Neighborhood. We have learned that three juveniles were arrested after police say a man was maced and threatened with a gun before his vehicle was stolen on Wednesday night, February 25, 2026, in Eagan.

According to the Eagan Police Department, officers were dispatched at 9:08 p.m. on February 25th to the 800 block of Wescott Road after receiving a report of a robbery. Police say the victim reported being sprayed with mace and threatened with being shot by three suspects, described as one male and two females. The suspects then allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.

Officers began searching the area and soon located the stolen vehicle unoccupied near Trails End Road and Eagan Oaks Lane, where the suspects had apparently abandoned it. Mutual aid was called in from neighboring police agencies to help set up a perimeter in the area that stretched from Yankee Doodle to Wescott Road to the south. The Minnesota State Air Patrol was also called in to assist from the air as officers searched for the suspects.

Suspects Located Nearby

While checking the surrounding neighborhood, officers located two juvenile females walking in the area. According to police, one of the girls was in possession of pepper spray, believed to have been used in the robbery. Investigators later located the male suspect with his mother, and he was also taken into custody.

Authorities said all three suspects were between 13 and 14 years old.

Juveniles Booked into Dakota County Facility

The juveniles were transported to the Dakota County Juvenile Detention Center, where they were booked on preliminary charges, including:

  • Second-degree robbery

  • Carjacking

  • Felony theft

Because the suspects are juveniles, their identities have not been released. Authorities have not released additional information about the victim’s condition or whether any weapon was recovered. The first image below shows roughly where the carjacking occurred and where the vehicle was abandoned/crashed, roughly 1.2 miles away. The second image shows in greater detail where the car was found abandoned.
