WEST SAINT PAUL: A Minneapolis woman is facing a felony mail theft charge after prosecutors allege she stole an Amazon package from the front porch of a West St. Paul home.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Dakota County, Passion Marie Galvin, 34, of Minneapolis, has been charged with one count of mail theft (left for collection), a felony under Minnesota law. The charge carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
According to the complaint, on July 10, 2026, an officer with the West St. Paul Police Department responded to a reported theft at a residence on Livingston Avenue.
The victim told police that an Amazon package containing an Oakley sunglasses repair kit, valued at $18.99, had been taken from her front porch. The victim also reported having surveillance video of the incident and said the suspect allegedly left Yellow Pages phone books behind after taking the package.
Later that same day, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violations. According to the complaint, Galvin was a passenger in the vehicle and allegedly matched the appearance of the individual seen in the surveillance footage, including the same clothing, hairstyle, and handbag.
The complaint further states that officers observed an Amazon package and several Yellow Pages phone books in plain view inside the vehicle.
Galvin was subsequently charged in Dakota County District Court with felony mail theft.
The allegations contained in the criminal complaint are accusations. Galvin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
