Around 3:31 a.m. on December 6, officers were dispatched to a residence in South St. Paul after a report of a burglary in progress, the complaint states. The caller told dispatchers that a man had entered the home and was going through the refrigerator.

Before the police arrived, the homeowner pushed the intruder out of the house. Officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. He was identified as Hugo Hernandez Lara, born March 16, 1997.
