UPDATED: Two Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Farmington Crash on Highway 3

FARMINGTON, MN: Two Farmington residents sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday evening after a motorcycle collided with an SUV that was attempting a U-turn on Highway 3, according to newly released information from the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 6:42 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the intersection of Highway 3 and Spruce Street in Farmington.
According to the State Patrol, a 2024 Toyota RAV4 was traveling northbound on Highway 3 when the driver attempted to make a U-turn from the center lane near Spruce Street. As the vehicle crossed the left lane, it was struck by a 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHX motorcycle traveling on Highway 3.
The motorcycle was operated by a 58-year-old male from Farmington, who suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment. A passenger on the motorcycle, a 60-year-old female from Farmington, also sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital. The crash report does not confirm whether either of the two on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old male from Lakeville, was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the SUV, a 57-year-old female of Lakeville, was also uninjured. The crash report confirms both were wearing seat belts in the Toyota. The State Patrol reported that road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor for any of the individuals involved.
The crash closed northbound Highway 3 for several hours while emergency personnel investigated the cause. Emergency responders from the Farmington Police Department, Farmington Fire Department, Dakota County Sheriff's Office, and ambulance crews responded to the scene.
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. No additional information has been released regarding the current conditions of the injured riders.
