Authorities in South St. Paul are investigating after a body was discovered in the Mississippi River near Kaposia Landing Tuesday afternoon, prompting a coordinated response from multiple public safety agencies.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 1:23 p.m. on February 14, 2026, on reports of two individuals in the water. At the time, members of the Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol Unit had just cleared the scene of a body recovery from the Mississippi River.
